About the Levels:
Alpha- Alpha is the highest level we offer. It makes for the most impressive and realistic miniature. Models are painted using blending and as many highlights as it takes to achieve as smooth as a transition in painting as possible. Several Alpha level minis have won awards in painting competitions.
Beta- Beta is the more economical of the two levels. This level incorporates a mix of inks, washes, blending and highlighting to acheive a nice looking, above tabletop standard mini. Highlights tend to be more stark, but are clean.

Contact me via email and list the names of all models you would like painted, as well as the individual status of each model/unit, whether it is primed or unprimed, assembled or unassembled, or even purchased or not. Listing it like this means I can give you a total as well as a breakdown, should you choose not to have all the models painted.
Purchasing the Miniatures:
You can send us models you have purchased yourself, or we can buy them for you. Just let us know what you need and we will handle the rest.
Payment:
Personal check is preferred, but paypal and USPS money order is of course also accepted. Payment is not required up front except for funds to purchase minis and parts.
Assembling the Miniatures:
Important Note: All minis must be COMPLETE after leaving the studio. In other words, no commissions for single arms, minis without arms, unfinished bases etc.
After we buy or recieve the models from you, we send you an email letting you know work has begun. The minis are unpacked, checked for missing or defective parts, and sorted. If there are parts missing or damaged, we contact the manufacturer immediately and have a replacement sent to us. Models are then cleaned of all flash, assembled using high quality glues, and in the case of heavy miniatures made of resin or metal, green stuffed.
Once the glue and green stuff has dried, we base the miniature by adding texture. The default medium is sand, which is applied with PVA glue. The bond is strong, especially after being primed, painted, and sealed. Once the basing has dried the models are then primed from all angles for an even coat to help reduce future chipping and wear.
Painting the Miniatures:
Once the primer has dried, miniatures are carefully painted in the color scheme chosen by the client. We use highlighting, shading and layering in different combinations to get the right effect for the specific part of the model being painted. Cloth is treated differently than metal, as well as skin for example.
Once the miniatures are finished, they are sealed twice with Krylon Matte finish. This provides a durable but invisible protective seal.
Post-Painting Procedure:
When the minis are finished we take digital photos of them and send you an email with copies of the pictures, and let you know work is finished. Let us know what you think, and if there are an ammendments you would like to have made. If everything is satisfactory final payment is made and the minis are shipped out via priority mai.
Enjoy your new minis, and note the look on your friends faces!
Shipping Notes:
Recipients inside the U.S. pay a flat $8 for shipping. Anyone outside of this pays $20. All minis are wrapped in tissue and will not come into contact with any other minis. Often additional tissue, foam, packing peanuts, or bubble wrap is used to get the safest packing possible.
Bits:
Usually when a client sends a project in, we hang onto the bits unless otherwise specified. This keeps costs down for everyone, and if a later client has a project in mind that needs bits, it sure is better to get them free then to go to a third party bits seller.
I don't sell bits unless they are unique and from a set the Studio has bought. I will trade any bits, but only trade through Bartertown (www.bartertown.com). Go check it out and set up an account. It's a great place!
Basing:
The prices for each type of basing can be found in the pricing guide. Painting can be in any combination of colors you choose. Base rims can also be painted any color. If you need help picking a basing color scheme we would be glad to help you choose one with the miniature in mind.
All basing has the option of decoration such as old bones, metal, or weapons. If we have the bits available for what you want we will let you know. We try to keep this free, but for very large armies with decorations on all the bases, there may be a very small fee to buy the plasticard, gears, or whatever else you come up with.
Basic Basing:
A layer of sand, painted in the colors of your choice to reflect dirt, stone, or gravel. You may then choose green flock patches, snow patches, full snow, or bare. Snow is a special mix and will never yellow.
Moderate basing:
This is the most common type of character basing requested and uses either cork for rubble or balsa planks. For an example of a cork base check out Caine in the Cygnar gallery.
Advanced basing:
This includes anything requiring sculpting, or pinning due to the fragility of the material such as very thick layers of balsa. Sculpted bases are done with green stuff for small detailed bases, or Sculpey for large, scenic bases such as that of the Seraph in the Hordes section of the gallery.
