PRICING
:

The following categories are the pricing guide for having your models painted. Assembly and special basing may be added to the total, and can be found at the bottom of the page. Always check the news section for special monthly deals and discounts! Please contact me for an estimate that is spot on rather than ballpark.

There are two levels of painting at the studio. Alpha Level is the original and highest level. Beta is the next and newest level. For more information about each, check the services tab..

Troopers, Soldiers, and Footsloggers:

These are your core fighting troops. They make up the bulk of your army and are heavy in numbers. Whether they are on foot, on horseback, or clad in tank-like armor, they fight in groups often led by a unit commander. If the models do not act as a group on the battlefield then they are not truly a unit, and fit into another category.

Small Base:
This includes 25mm bases and smaller. These prices cover 90% of miniatures you might have painted, but some more or less complex troops might change the price listed slightly.

Alpha
- 20 models/type or more $8.50 ea. 19 models/type or less $9.50 ea.

Beta - 20 models/type or more $5.50 ea. 19 models/type or less $6.50 ea.

Medium Base:
This category is for foot troops on bases from 30mm-40mm.

Alpha - $25 - 50 ea.

Beta - $10 - 30 ea.

Cavalry Base:
This includes Games Workshop 25x50mm bases, as well as cavalry on 30mm bases and larger. This also includes motorcycles.

Alpha - $35 - 65 ea.

Beta - $20 - 45 ea.

Some simple models in this category may require a discount. Goblins, skeletons, and the like will be lower in price.

Warjacks, Warbeasts, and other Monsters:

This category is for large monsters which are unique on the battlefield. Dragons, Giants, and Robots fit here. Such models are often large, dominant on the table, and solo artists when it comes to fighting, and as such are painted on their own.

Medium Base:
This category is for 30mm square or round based monsters and robots.

Alpha - $35 - 75 ea.

Beta - $20 - 50ea.

Large Base:
This category is for 40mm and larger based miniatures.

Alpha
- $45+ ea.

Beta - $30+ ea.

Massive - $100+
There is a simple rule to finding out if a model fits here. If it has a base, it goes somewhere else. Massive minis are those scratchbuilt or put out by Forgeworld, and are so large that a base would prove unweildy. These are truly behemoth by comparison to regular troopers, and as such are painted with the same care and time as an entire army.

Trains, Planes, and Land Raiders:

Vehicles are your lifeline, your heavy support, and your transport. A model fits in this category if, in reality or in theory, it has a driver or pilot. They usually do not have bases save for flying stands. Humanoid robots are not vehicles, and go in the above category.

Small Vehicles:
This includes 28mm cars and trucks.

Alpha - $20 - 40 ea.

Beta - $10 - 20ea.

Average Vehicles:
This includes common tanks and transports.

Alpha - $50 - 100 ea.

Beta - $30 - 60ea.

Large Vehicles:
This includes rare and oversized tanks and aircraft. These are larger than a regular tank and often carry many troops or a very large weapon or assortment of weaponry. Anything Land Raider sized and larger.

Alpha - $60+ ea.

Beta - $40+ ea.

Wizards, Warlocks, and Warriors :

Characters are an important centerpeice in the army, and thus are given extra special attention. Characters are painted completely seperate from the rest of the army and are painted to a very high standard. They are garaunteed to stand out when your army hits the table.

Small Base:
Alpha - $40 - 75 ea.

Beta - $25 - 50 ea.

Medium Base:
Alpha - $50 - 100 ea.

Beta - $30 - 60 ea.

Cavalry Base:
Alpha - $60 - 100 ea.

Beta - $40 - 70ea.

Monster Mounted:
Monsters are counted under the Monsters category, riders are in this category (usually just as a small based model).

Basing:

The basing guide can be found in the services tab.

Basic Basing - Included in assembly, otherwise $.50

Moderate Basing - $3/model

Advanced Basing - Quote

Assembly:

Here are listed the costs of assembling miniatures. This includes everything from taking them off the sprue to gluing, priming, and basing. Basing is included in the cost of assembly but can be done seperately. You may assemble models yourself to save money, but please do not prime them. If you do it is usually workable though. Minis that you assemble will be glanced over for large errors, and if any are found they will be fixed (up to five per order then assembly charges). Please be careful when packing miniatures as neglect (throwing them loose in a box with little protection) will force us to charge to reassemble. On top of that parts can break in places other than glue joints.

One to Two Piece Plastic Infantry: $1.00

Multi Part Plastic Infantry: $2.00

Metal Infantry : $2.50

Plastic Cavalry and Bikes: $2.00-5.00

Metal Cavalry and Bikes: $3-8.00

Metal 40mm base: $5.00

Plastic Walkers: $5.00

Plastic Tank Kits: $10.00+

Flying Stands :

If you would like to have your flying miniatures posed at varying heights, and in much sturdier metal rod, an upgraded flying stand is for you. If neccessary, custom holes are drilled to fit the new rod, then the mini is assembled.

Custom flying stands: $5

Conversions:

Conversions can be done in any number, and for any model. We are very open to hearing your ideas.

Light Conversion: $1-2 per model. This includes small additions that require no chopping such as extra hair, flames, or single straps.

Medium Conversion: $3-5 per model. This includes chopping into the model itself, and/or lots of extra greenstuff for straps or armor. No green stuff makes up the basics of the model.

Heavy Conversion: $15-35 per model. This includes reposing metal minis and heavy rehauls on plastic models. Models heavily converted are in completely new poses, and green stuff may constitute 10-30% of the basics of the mini.

Resculpting: $35+ per model. This involves taking a model, or the basics of one, and chopping and sculpting it into something that is almost completely different. The use of green stuff is heavy and may constitute 30-80% of the new miniature. For examples of this see the conversion gallery.

Display Boards :

Display boards are a great excuse to keep your minis out and displayed, and give them a great finishing touch. They give many added bonus points in tournament judging as well.

Display boards can be based on either a picture frame, or 2" hard styrofoam. Each can have custom dimensions. Frames can be simple to extravagent. Let me know what type you are looking for and I will do some shopping if what I have on hand doesn't suit you. Micheal's locally also does custom framing, and stock is usually the same from store to store. If you see something in yours chances are I can get it in mine.

Terrain on a display board can range from simple flat sand and flock to match your bases to an elaborate setting. Prices for materials are about $50-100, while labor starts at $50 for a simple flat textured display to match your bases.

Stripping:

We prefer you send us minis that are a blank canvas, primed at most, but we do occasionally strip models for those without the time or inclination to do it themselves. Stripping is a time and cost intensive process, as the solutions used to strip are usually not reusable and the minis have to soak for a day or more. The larger the model, the more solution it takes to submerge it as well.

For metal minis we use laquer thinner, and for plastic and resin we use simple green. We can usually tell if a mini has plastic or resin parts to it, but please remind us if a mini is composed of metal and resin or plastic, as we do not want any parts to melt.

Terrain:

We will work with any scale for your terrain needs. We can do everything from building to painting, or we can paint something nice that you have already built. The options and possibilities are endless.
